Prof. Dr. Mustafa Deveci was born in Ankara in 1962. After completing primary and secondary school in Ankara, he graduated from Kuleli Military High School in 1980, where he passed the entrance exam in 1976. Then, he started medical education at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Medicine in 1980. He transferred to GATA Faculty of Medicine in 1983 and graduated in 1986. Then he has worked as a trainee at GATA for one year. He has completed his military service for two years as a general practitioner in Kırklareli 33rd Infantry Division. Then he gave TUS exam in 1989 and started his residency program in GATA Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department. He completed residency in November 1994 and was appointed as the Chief of Plastic Surgery Clinic at Diyarbakır Military Hospital. In November 1996, He started to work as Assistant Professor at GATA Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department. Between November 1998 and November 1999, he countiuned clinical and experimental studies at the University of Michigan, Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He received the title of University Associate Professor in April 2002. Then he was promoted to professor degree in September 2008.

He retired from teaching position at GATA Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery A.D. in October 2009. After working in his private office for a while, he started at Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Medicine Plastic Surgery Department in June 2011. He was appointed to the professor staff in Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital as Plastic Surgery Clinic Chief. He left his position in November 2012 and started in private office. As a result of the scientific and clinical studies he has done during his academic life, he has been awarded the Hand Surgery specialization and Maxillofacial Surgery specialization approved by the Ministry of Health.
He is the member of Mediterranean Burn Council, and he also the member of the International Confederation of Plastic Reconstructive and Esthetic Surgery, Turkish Plastic Surgery Association, Association of Maxillofacial Surgeons and Wound Care and Tissue Repair Association.

He is married and speaks English well.
